  • February, 2000 - St. Mary’s teachers began plans for a school vegetable garden to be known as Mary’s Garden. Students will do the planting, weeding, and harvesting of the crops.
  • February 16, 2000 - St. Mary’s Fifth and Sixth Graders are writing letters to students in Rapid City, South Dakota and Fair Haven, Vermont. The Pen-Pal program is organized through the Weekly Reader Club.
  • March, 2000 - Books are being collected by St. Mary’s School to be sent to Molly Steinbauer, a Peace Corps Volunteer, in Tanzania. Molly is a graduate of St. Mary’s and is building a children’s library in the east African country.
  • March 25, 2000 - St. Mary’s students were chosen by Peace Corps to receive a phone call from Volunteer, Molly Steinbauer, as a part of the Peace Corps Day International Phone Call Event. The students received the call via a speaker phone.
  • June 4, 2000 - Thirteen students graduated from the eighth Grade at a 7 p.m. liturgy
  • June 7, 2000 - The Eighth Grade Class trip left for New York City where the students visited the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, the Empire State Building, the site of the World Trade Center, and many other interesting places in the Big Apple.
  • August, 2000 - The staff for the new school year is: Kathy Holcomb (principal), Margaret Inks (K), Kathy Bolen (1), Amanda Ripple (2), Sister Justine (3), Teryl Boegli (4), Debra Wilfong (5), Betty Obringer (6), Sharon Kinnear (7), Leah Coffey (8), Tiffany Ekleberry (tutor), Karen Meyer (clerk), Charlotte Michaels (nurse)), Anita Eubanks (cafeteria), Kathy Leonard (Music), Pete Ptak (maintenance), and Kay Dick (secretary).
  • March 21, 2001 - The Knights Girls Sixth Grade Basketball team recently finished their season with a 7-3 record. The girls then went to the Tri-Deanery league tournament and won the league championship.
  • June 1, 2001 - Toronto, Canada, was the site of the Eighth Grade Class Trip.
  • June 6, 2001 - Eighth Grade Graduation was held. 
  • July, 2001 - Father Dennis Schroeder became the pastor of Clyde St. Mary’s Parish.

  • August 29, 2001 - Total enrollment for grades K-8 is 120.
  • October 10, 2001 - St. Mary’s students are collecting money for an elementary school in Manhattan to aid those in need since the Sept. 11 attacks.
  • December 7, 2001 - Five veterans were honored at St. Mary’s School as the 60th anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor was observed. The veterans were Grandfathers of current students.
  • January 30, 2002 - St. Mary’s Graduate and Returned Peace Corps Volunteer, Molly Steinbauer, visited St. Mary’s students and shared with them her experiences in the East African nation of Tanzania.
  • May 5, 2002 - Twenty-three students received their First Holy Communion with Father Schroeder officiating.
  • May 30, 2002 - St. Mary’s Eighth Graders left for their class trip to Gettysburg, Baltimore, and Washington D.C.
  • June 2, 2002 - Eleven students graduated from the Eighth Grade at evening Mass.

  • August 1, 2002 - Enrollment: 107
  • August 1, 2002 - St. Mary's did not have enough boys for a football team so some students played for Bellevue ICS and others for Fremont St. Joseph. St. Mary's did have a 5th and 6th grade Volleyball Team and a 7th and 8th grade Volleyball Team.
  • February 22, 2003 - 1966 St. Mary's Alumnus, Father Joseph Steinbauer, was the featured speaker for the Endowment Fund Dinner.
  • February 23, 2003 - St. Mary's CYO girls basketball team held onto a perfect record and took first place at the Tri-Deanery Tournament.
  • March 17, 2003 - St. Mary's School was champion of the 22nd Annual Catholic Schools Challenge Bowl.
  • April 9, 2003 - 29 students were confirmed by Bishop Albert Ottenweller.
  • May 1, 2003 - Lauren Meyer was May Queen and Brady Tea was the Crown Bearer.
  • May 1, 2003 - 24 second graders received their First Holy Communion.
  • May 30, 2003 - The 8th grade Class Trip was to New York City.
  • June 4, 2003 - 8th grade graduation was held.

  • September 1, 2003 - The new outdoor lighted sign was installed by Dick Karr and John Wise and was assisted by Pete Ptak.
  • November 4, 2003 - A Memorial Mass was held for long-time St. Mary's teacher, Sister Justine Gubernath.
  • January 25, 2004 - St. Mary's School honored Dr. Mark Pickett with its Catholic Distinguished Graduate Award during Catholic Schools Week.
  • April 23, 2004 - Confirmation was held at Sacred Heart in Fremont.
  • May 1, 2004 - St. Mary's 8th graders went on a three-day class trip to Chicago.
  • May 2, 2004 - The 2nd graders received their First Holy Communion.
  • June 1, 2004 - 8th grade graduation was held.

  • October 4, 2004 - The Most Reverend Leonard P. Blair, Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Toledo, blessed the animals at St. Mary's School as the students celebrated the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi.
  • January 19, 2005 - Marian Beier, Bingo Manager, retired after 25 years of service. Bingo was a major fundraiser for the church and school.
  • March 5, 2005 - For the second year in a row, Christopher Liebold (7th grade) qualified for the State Geography Bee.
  • April 23, 2005 - Confirmation was held at Sacred Heart in Fremont.
  • May 1, 2005 - St. Mary's Catholic Church held its First Holy Communion at 10:30 a.m. with Father Dennis P. Schroder the celebrant.
  • August 1, 2005 - St. Mary's staff and faculty for the 2005/2006 school year was: Kathy Holcomb (Principal), Kay Dick (Secretary), Irene Jennings (K), Leslie Poignon (1), Kelly Spears (2), Brittney Hoffman (3), Debra Wilfong (4), Sharon Kinnear (5/6), Leah Coffey (7/8), Kelleah Oddo (Phys. Ed.), Laura Shaw (Nurse), Laura Strickland (Cafeteria), Karen Meyer (Clerk), Sandra Carothers (Tutor), and Anna Zamora (Office Volunteer).
  • January 21, 2006 - St. Mary's Graduate, National Guard Captain Jeff Gillmor, visited the school after returning from duty in Iraq. The students had "adopted" Capt. Gillmor and sent him school supplies to distribute while he was in Baghdad. For this project, the school earned an "Honorable Mention" Award from the national "Make A Difference Day" project.
  • January 29, 2006 - Congratulations went to Sister Ann Pierre Wilken, OSF, who had been selected as the 2006 Distinguished Graduate Award recipient. Sister Ann graduated from St. Mary's first 8th grade class.
  • February 11, 2006 - Graduate Frank Crockett was the speaker at the annual Endowment Dinner.
  • May 13, 2006 - The Sacrament of Confirmation was held at Sacred Heart Church in Fremont.  St. Mary's had 11 students confirmed.
  • June 5, 2006 - 8th grade graduation took place during the Friday mroning School Mass.
  • August 29, 2006 - It was the first day of school for St. Mary's students, one day earlier than Clyde School District students.

  • September 12, 2006 - St. Mary's Catholic School kicked off its 50th anniversary festivities with a visit from Bishop Leonard Blair who officiated at the morning mass and then joined the students for lunch.
  • September 2006 - The Debra Dell Foundation was established to help our school children
  • September 2006 - Students are excited about the Book Adventure Reading program they will be doing on the internet this year.
  • September 2006 - Graduates Heidi (Crockett) Maines and Becky (Selvey) Rohrbach are coaching the Sixth Grade Volleyball Team
  • September 2006 - Graduate Cheri (Hainline) Hemby is creating the St. Mary's first internet web site (www.clydestmary.org
  • October 1, 2006 - Grandparents Day was held
  • December 20, 2006 - St. Mary's students presented "The Story of Christmas" under the direction of Mr. David Lester.
  • January 4, 2007 - Graduate Michael Lemmon served in the Navy Honor Guard at the funeral of President Gerald R. Ford.
  • March 2007 - St. Mary's School won its 9th Challenge Bowl defeating several schools at the competition held at Bellevue ICS.
  • April 2007 - Confirmation was celebrated by Fr. Charles Singler at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fremont.
  • May 2007 - Fr. Schroeder officiated at the First Communion liturgy at St. Mary's.
  • May 18, 2007 - the Eighth Graders visited several sites in Toledo on their class trip.
  • May 20, 2007 - The largest Track Team in recent years participated in the Diocesan Track Meet.
  • June 1, 2007 - St. Mary's held its Eighth Grade graduation during today's school liturgy.
