Criteria for the Award included:
  • A completed application returned by the deadline;
  • Child must attend church weekly and be a practicing Christian;
  • Child must have regular school attendance and be responsible;
  • Child must volunteer for school and/or community activities;
  • Child must show growth in personal development and respect;
  • Child must follow school rules as per student handbook and have A's or S's in conduct the majority of the time;
  • Child must be a good role model and St. Mary's student; and
  • A small paragraph must have accompanied the application stating why the child was deserving of the scholarship.

Winners for 2007 include:

Natalie Andrews is the daughter of Mike and Becky Andrews.  Natalie is a 6th grader at St. Mary's and very active in school.  She is involved in Student Council, Yearbook, Band, and Rocket Club.  She also plays volleyball, basketball and track.  She visits the patients at Arbors Nursing Home.  Her community activities include:  Little League Softball, Vacation Bible Schools, Safety Village, and she recently took a basic baby-sitting skills course.  Natalie attends church at St. Mary's on a regular basis and is a dedicated mass server.  She has been on the honor roll and is a role model student.

Jeremy Booth is the son of Karen Booth and Roger Booth.  Jeremy is a 2nd grader at St. Mary's and is in Boy Scouts.  He plays soccer, baseball and flag football for fun.  He is a member of St. Gaspar del Buffalo parish where he attends on a regular basis.  Jeremy recently made his First Holy Communion at St. Gaspar's.  He also has helped out with their Pork Chop Dinners, Breakfast with Santa, Church Festival, and Christmas Program.  He goes to CCD at St. Gaspar and also is a church greeter.

Chloe, Carah & Cayla Liebold are the daughters of Michelle and Eric Liebold.  These girls are busy girls and attend St. Mary's Church on a regular basis.  Chloe is in the 3rd grade, Carah is in the 5th grade and Cayla is in the 8th grade.  They are good students and work in the school cafeteria.  Carah and Cayla are in band and track as well as 4-H.  All the girls visit Arbors Nursing Home with the Student Council and volunteer for different parish events:  Fish Fry's and St. Paddy's Night.  Cayla is a class officer - member of student council and dedicated altar server.  Cayla is a safety patrol member and honor roll achievement winner.  Cayla will attend SJCC High School next year.

Heidi and Alex Marshall are the children of Heather and Marc Marshall.  Alex and Heidi attend weekly Mass at St. Mary's and Alex recently became a trained Altar Server.  Heidi is in the 1st grade and Alex is in the 4th grade.  They work in the school garden as well as last year adopted a plot of land to weed and plant flowers at the school.  Heidi is the 1st Grade Student Council Representative and helps in the school office.  They both visit the patients at Arbors Nursing Home with the Student Council.  Both students help out with the Clyde High School softball team and work in the school's concession stand.  They play in the Clyde Recreation League - basketball, football and baseball.  They receive good grades and presently both have perfect attendance this year.  Alex has won the local Punt, Pass & Kick competition sponsored by the Clyde Kiwanis and advanced to the District level.  Heidi helped with the Christmas Tree project this year where St. Mary's took first place honors.

Kyle Zamora is the son of Jose and Anna Zamora.  Kyle is our runner-up winner this year.  He will be attending SJCC high school next year.  He has signed up for a safety village volunteer, attends mass on a weekly basis and is an Honor Roll student.  He belongs to the Rocket Club and is a Safety Patrol member.
